On the Trailforks basemap, you can view trails by color, blaze color, or you can deemphasize the trails so that you're better able to see layers and other features on the map.
View Trails by Color
Local trail associations can give trails specific colors to match their own maps or branding. If no color has been assigned to a trail, this style will draw the trail in a random color. This is specific to trail associations and can be helpful if a trail association has decided to color their trails differently to designate specific details about a trail or section of trails.
To view trails by color, go to 'Trail Style' > Color.
View Trails by Blaze Color
The blaze color is set by a trail association or trail admin when creating a trail. This is a custom system set-up by a trail association; for example, as a trail-builder, you might want to set-up bright pink flagging tape on your local trail that you're helping build. You could set the blaze color in Trailforks to hot pink so that other users or trail builders know what to look for.
To view trails by blaze color, go to Trail Style > Blaze Color. This filter is available only on the trailforks.com basemap and not on the app.
Deemphasize Trails
You can also choose to deemphasize trails by going to 'Trail Style' > 'Deemphasized.' This layer will make the trails less prominent so that you can better view other layers or features on the map.
