You can share posts or activities to the feed for your followers to see and interact with! Users can give you a high-five, comment, or share your post depending on how your privacy settings are set up.
For more information on the feed, please see this article.
Create a Post
You can create a post on the feed by first signing in with your Trailforks credentials, and then navigating to the Dashboard tab on Trailforks.com.
You can also create a post if you are signed into your Trailforks account and by navigating to the POST tab on the home screen of Trailforks.com.
Once you click on 'Share Your Adventure,' you may be prompted to sign in with your Outside credentials (email address & password) in order to continue making a post.
Upload a Ridelog or Activity
You can upload a recorded ride or activity to the feed by first recording your ride here. If your recorded ride hasn't yet uploaded, please see this article.
When you make your recording, you will have the option to record the ride or activity and set the visibility to 'Everyone,' Followers Only, or 'Only Me.'
If you have selected, 'Everyone,' your activity should be publicly viewable to all users on the feed.
If you have selected, 'Followers only,' your followers alone should be able to see your ride or activity.
If you have selected, 'Only Me,' your activity should only appear under your activity log for you to view.
You can learn more about your default privacy settings here.
Note: it is important to remember that if you wish to only let your followers see your activities, you should keep your default privacy settings set to 'Private' for your profile and your activity settings set to 'Followers Only'.'
Connect Your Device to Upload Your Activities
You also have the option to connect a device, such as your Garmin or Strava, to automatically upload your activities to the feed. To learn more about connecting a device through the Trailforks app or via the website, please see this article.
For any synced activities through a connected device, those activities should be automatically ingested into the feed per your Device Hub sync settings.
The privacy settings for connected device will DIFFER from your default privacy settings. You can set the visibility of your synced activities under 'Manage Connections' and clicking on the device sync settings.
Example for a Garmin device:
Note: If your visibility is set to 'Followers' or 'Everyone,' your synced activities through the device hub will be publicly visible on the feed, EVEN if your default activity feed privacy settings are set to 'Only You.' Your default activity feed privacy settings will apply to your recorded tracks on the app directly (NOT through syncing your device).
You can connect a device via your Trailforks Android app by navigating to your Profile settings -> Device Hub -> Connect a New Device.
You can connect a device via Trailforks.com by navigating to your Settings and managing your device connections under 'Connections.'
You can also view your activity log through your connected device via Manage Your Data. Your most recent ridelogs or activities should appear here for your connected devices as long as you have successfully connected your device or account.
Synced activities can take some time to upload into the feed and your activity log. If you are not seeing your most recent rides or activities show up in your activity log or in the feed, please ensure that your connection is correctly set-up via the external device platform (example: Garmin Connect app, Strava account, etc.).
If I remove a user’s activity post from my feed, does that hide that user’s posts from appearing in my feed?
If you remove a user's activity post from your feed, it will not hide that user's posts from appearing in the feed. It will just remove that particular post from your feed. You cannot re-add visibility to that post once you have chosen to 'Remove from feed.'
How do I block or report a user?
You can block or report a user by clicking on 'Report User' or 'Block User' from the drop-down menu accessed on the right-hand side of the post. For more information on blocking or reporting users, please see this article.
