The Trailforks 'Facebook-like' Community Feed is one of the coolest features of the site and gives you a reason to check the site daily!
There are a few places on the website where you can view the feed:
A. The Homepage
Once you've logged into Trailforks.com, you should be able to see the feed on the homepage. You can toggle between the options to see posts from all brands and regions, posts from just your state, nearby to you, or you can see posts from just users and authors that you are following.
Note: the Trailforks feed functionality differs from the Outside feed. For more information on the Outside feed, please see this article.
You have the option to add a photo or a report under the Post tab.
You can change your preferences under the 'Gear' icon:
B. Under the Dashboard
Under the dropdown menu on the right-hand side, you can click on the 'person' icon that will reveal a drop-down menu. Select Dashboard, and you will also see the feed. You can also create a post under the 'Dashboard' tab by clicking on 'Share Your Adventure.'
If you are receiving an error when trying to 'post' on the Trailforks feed, please try clearing your cache and reloading the Trailforks website. If the issue persists, try creating a post from the Outside feed, which should also post to the Trailforks feed.
C. Friend's Feed
Under the Ridelog menu, on the main homepage, you can see the option for 'Friend's Feed.'
This particular feed will show you rides, runs, or hikes that your friends have done recently. You can also add a ride of your own here.
You can find and follow friends under 'Find Friends to Follow' under your Profile tab.
Note: At this time, you may see a difference in followers between your Outside profile and your Trailforks profile. The number of followers you see may vary depending on the products that your followers use. We are working to have parity between the feed experiences, but there will be differences between platforms.
We recommend accessing the feed (requesting and viewing followers) via the platform you primarily use.
You can find friends to follow under your Settings:
On the Trailforks Android App:
You can also view the feed on the Android app after you have logged in. The menu drop-down on the left-hand side will show the option to go to the 'Community Feed.' You can change your feed settings by clicking on the 'Gear' icon on the right-hand side once you've accessed the feed.
FAQ
What will show up on the community feed?
You will see content from brands or authors you follow as well as posts, ridelogs, tracks, and activities from users you follow. If you have set the visibility on your posts to 'followers' or 'everyone,' your activities (such as a run, hike, or bike-ride) will show up on the feed. If you add a trail report or mark a trail as completed, this activity will also show up on the feed.
How can I see what information is posted to the feed?
In the app, under your profile, you should be able to see your stats, including your latest Activities, Completed trails, regions you've favourited, and the 'Feed.' Under 'Feed,' you'll see the Trailforks activities that have been posted to the feed.
Similarly, on Trailforks.com, you can navigate to your Profile, and then to the 'Activity' tab. Clicking on 'Shared' will show which activities you have 'shared' to the feed.
