How to Add a Point of Interest (POI) on trailforks.com
A. The first way that you can add a Point of Interest to any map on trailforks.com is by going to the 'Contribute' page under 'More.'
From there, click on 'Point of Interest.'
The map will geo-center on your location.
B. An alternative way of adding a Point of Interest is to do so from a riding area, city, or region. Once in the region, you can click on 'Add/Edit' > 'Add POI.'
Add the Point of Interest
1. From the 'Point of Interest' page, you can toggle the map between map and satellite view.
2. Choose the type of POI:
- Technical Terrain Feature (TTF)
- Parking Lot
- Water Source
- Information Center
- Warning Sign
- Sight
3. Drop a pin where the POI location is, and add an associated trail by trail name.
4. Click 'Submit.'
5. Now, from the riding area screen, you'll see the POI appear.
Note: the functionalities shown in the video may differ slightly from the UX offered in the app and website today. Trailforks has undergone a number of release updates, and if you have kept your Trailforks app up-to-date, you should see a more updated version of many of these functions shown in the video. We have kept the video up on our help center as it still serves to show users the many features that Trailforks offers!
