Unlike some other strictly curated trail sites, Trailforks supports a community-based platform that encourages users to contribute to the information available in the app and website. While we encourage filling out as much detail as you can when submitting a trail, having a full trail summary with all details input is not a requirement. Anyone can make edits to a trail after it has been added to our database, resulting in improvements to the information over time.
Our philosophy is that we would rather have information on a trail than no information at all. We want to lower the barrier for adding content in order to encourage our users to contribute. Even if you only know the name of the trail and have a GPS track, we appreciate any submissions - go ahead and submit a trail with just that basic info!
In this way, other forms of content, such as Pinkbike photos and videos, can be matched to the trail, and users can add trail reports and utilize the trail's check-in features.
