Trail reports may be assigned an issue status of Open, In Progress, Complete, or Canceled. Additionally, admins may assign a specific user to report on and complete an issue.
Admins can easily view a list of issues and the corresponding status for regions under their responsibility. They can also easily update issue status, assign users to complete issues, and mark issues as complete or canceled.
Creating issues from trail reports and assigning users to work on these issues is a great method for organizing, tracking, and completing trail work.
Adding an Issue Status
Adding a trail report can be done two ways:
1. Creating a new report.
When marking a new report as a "Minor Issue / Yellow" or as a "Significant Issue / Amber", you'll see a new option appear. This new option is pre-checked and reads: Create an "Issue Status." To continue, fill out and submit the report as usual. Your report will now have a new status attached to it. Remember to uncheck the option if you do not wish to add an issue status.
2. Adding to an existing report.
To add a status issue to an existing trail report, simply navigate to the trail report page. Under 'Status,' you will see an option to "open an issue status."
Click on 'Open an issue status' to create the issue status. The report will update automatically and you will see that the issue status has been created and set to "Open".
Keep in mind that an issue status will only be created if you have the appropriate admin permissions.
Viewing Issue Status for a Region
To view the Issue Status for a region, navigate to the region's page on trailforks.com and select the 'Reports' tab. Feel free to sort and filter these reports as you like, but the 'open issues' tab is a convenient way to view a list of all the current issues being tracked for the region.
Viewing Issue Status for Individual Users
Users can easily view and keep track of issues that have been assigned to them. As a user, visit your 'Assigned Issues' page by using the Trailforks main navigation menu.
Assigning an Issue Status to a User
Each issue status may be assigned to a specific user. Assigning an issue status can be done on the individual report page, the region's issue status page, or a user's 'My Open Issues' page.
On the 'add report' page, click on the 'update status' button. New options will appear that allow you to search and assign a user to the status issue.
On the region and user pages, click on the little red circle icon that indicates the status of the issue.
A small window will pop up where you can search for a user to assign to the issue.
Updating an Issue Status
Updating a status issue to Open, In Progress, Completed, or Canceled is done the same way as assigning the issue to a user. To update a status issue, click on the appropriate checkbox for the desired status.
