Rolling into a new zone and wondering which trail is a must ride? Well, the Trailforks app can help! Once you've found that "Must Ride" trail, you can figure out the best way to get to it and how best to ride it.
Find that trail!
To start off, search for the region that you're currently riding in, or you can also tap on the 'target' icon on the right-hand side below the magnifying glass to center yourself on the map.
If you are wanting to 'search' for a particular region, you can do so by tapping on the magnifying glass.
Tap on the riding area within the region that you're focusing on, and continue zooming into the region to see all the different trails available to ride. If you're viewing an entire region, you can see information about the region by swiping up to view the information page.
The tabs at the bottom of the screen will show you the trails available, including their level of difficulty and recent trail status, gathered by trail reports submitted via the app and on the website.
Each trail's information page will also show you the popularity of the trail, shown under 'Activity Type.'
Difficulty is represented by the color on the map. To view the map's legend, you will have to return to the main map screen, tap on the drop-down menu on the left-hand side, and go to 'App Feedback & Help.' This will allow you to see the varying icons on the map mean, including difficulty of trail.
Check out Routes
The Routes tab on the right-hand side of the bottom tab will show you if a user recently rode this trail as part of their ridelog. Swiping up on the route will show you the trails ridden in that ridelog, so that you can replicate a similar ride if you wish!
Navigate to the Trail
Swiping up on the trail will show you an option to 'Route to' the trail. This will provide a route from the closest parking lot. You can also route from closest parking lot by zooming into the map and clicking on the 'P' circular icon. Tapping on that parking lot icon and hitting, 'Drive Directions' will allow you to view driving directions via Google Maps or Apple Maps, depending on your device.
Note: the functionalities shown in the video below differ slightly from the UX offered in the app today. The app has undergone a number of release updates, and if you have kept your Trailforks app up-to-date, you should see a more updated version of many of these functions shown in the video. We have kept the video up on our help center as it still serves to show users the many features that Trailforks offers!
