In-App Notifications
There are a few ways to receive and manage notifications related to the Group Location Sharing feature. The following in-app notifications are always enabled for the group location sharing feature:
A. Invitation to join a group: When you are invited to join a group, you will receive an in-app notification that allows you to accept or reject the invitation. If you are already a member of the group, you’ll see the group appear under Profile > Groups.
B. Invitation to view a user’s location: When a user starts sharing their location with a group that you are a part of, you’ll receive an in-app notification letting you know that that user has started sharing their location. You’ll have the ability to view their location or tap ‘Not Now.’ You can revisit the in-app notification via the notification drop-down if you’d like to start seeing that user’s location.
Push Notifications & Email Notifications
Once you have opted into a group, you can choose to manage push and email notifications by tapping on the ‘Bell’ icon under the Group Detail. These are checked ‘on’ by default.
A. Push Notifications: You can choose to enable or disable push notifications for when a member in the group shares their location.
B. Email Notifications: You can also opt into or out of receiving email notifications when a member of the group shares their location. Opting into email notifications will send an email to the email address associated with your Trailforks account letting you know that a member of the group has started sharing their location with you.
Opting out of all location share email notifications:
You can also opt out of all location share email notifications by going to your Profile Settings > Email Updates > toggling ‘Location Share Emails’ off.
This setting does not opt you out of receiving ‘Safety Alert’ and ‘All Good’ emails if you are included in a user’s Emergency Group (or shared group for Safety Alerts). If you wish to opt out of those emails, you will need to be removed from that user’s Emergency Group (or shared group for Safety Alerts).
