Your Trailforks Profile
You can manage your profile privacy settings through the app* or through the web.
By default, your profile page is public, so people not logged into the site can view your profile and your public ridelogs (these are not indexed by search engines, however). There is an option in your profile settings page to make your profile, and all its sub-pages, not public.
If Profile Public is CHECKED, anyone can view your profile, follow you, and view your public content.
If Profile Public is NOT CHECKED, you will make your profile private, and you will have to approve any users who follow you. Additionally, only approved Followers will be able to see any activities that you choose to make 'public.'
A. ON ANDROID
1. On your Android app, sign in with your credentials.
2. On the left-hand side, click on the drop-down menu, and navigate to Settings.
3. Under User Preferences, go to Profile Settings.
4. Under Profile Settings, you will have the options to:
a. Manage your Account
b. Manage your Connected Devices
c. Manage your Privacy settings
d. Manage your Local Newsletters
e. Manage your Email Updates
f. Manage your Notifications
B. ON iOS*
1. On your iOS* app, sign in with your credentials.
2. On the left-hand side, click on the drop-down menu, and navigate to Account.
3. Under Account, click on the Gear Icon on the right-hand side.
4. Under Profile Settings, you will have the options to:
a. Manage your Connected Devices
b. Manage your Privacy settings
c. Manage your Local Newsletters
d. Manage your Email Updates
e. Manage your Notifications
C. ON WEB
1. On Trailforks.com, sign in with your credentials.
2. On the right-hand side, click the drop-down with the person icon, and navigate to Settings.
3. Under settings, you will have the options to:
a. Change your Default Activity
b. Change Units from metric to imperial
c. Change your Default Basemap
d. Alter your connected accounts, such as Garmin or Strava
e. Edit your Privacy settings
f. Change your Email notification settings
g. Change your Mobile App notifications

Your Outside Profile
Your Profile Privacy setting in Trailforks should reflect the same setting in your Outside profile.
If you have set your Profile to PUBLIC in Trailforks, you are also selecting a PUBLIC profile in your Outside privacy settings.
If you have set your Profile to PRIVATE in Trailforks, you are selecting a PRIVATE profile in your Outside privacy settings.
A. ON ANDROID
On the Android app, you can further view your Outside profile and privacy settings under:
- Settings -> Profile Settings -> Outside Account
B. ON iOS*
On iOS*, you can further view your Outside profile and privacy settings on the iOS app under:
- Account -> Gear icon -> My Outside
*On iOS devices starting after version 2024.3.0 and higher, you will have the ability to manage your profile settings from Account -> Profile Settings. The rollout of the latest iOS app is still in progress. If you do not see the ability to manage your profile settings from your account as an iOS user, you will have to manage your privacy settings via web.
C. ON WEB
On Trailforks.com, you can further view your Outside profile and settings under:
- Settings -> My Outside
Note: The default privacy settings in Outside will propagate to Trailforks and Gaia GPS. There may be a delay in syncing information across platforms. If you do not see your photo, username, or privacy settings syncing across platforms, you may have to update each platform individually. Importantly, please ensure that you have your privacy settings on each platform set to your preferred visibility and privacy.
